Bold, Dynamic Design
The signature Ford 3-bar chrome grille gives you the
immediate sense that Edge is a vehicle of bold,
dynamic design. The available panoramic Vista Roof™,
for example, provides more area than a typical
moonroof with its multi-panel design. And the
sculpted body rides on a chassis with wheels at the
outer corners for a solid, athletic stance. From any
angle, it's easy to see, Edge is the ultimate
crossover.
Interior Craftsmanship
Bold exterior design cues carry over to Edge's
interior with sharp, graphic lines and angles that
define its athletic character. Ingenious use of
space maximizes comfort and flexibility, while
advanced sound-deadening materials create a
surprisingly quiet five-passenger cabin. All of this
- plus attention to ergonomic detail and features
like the available multi-panel Vista Roof™ - makes
the Edge distinctively different from any point of
view.
Cargo
Space
Forget shipping charges, or waiting three days for
your cool new accent piece to arrive. Up to 69 cubic
feet of available versatile cargo space means you
can bring your new finds home with you.
Panoramic Vista Roof™ Option
The available panoramic Vista Roof™ features a large
forward panel that tilts up or opens fully, plus a
fixed rear skylight. So whether you're sitting up
front or seated in back, Vista Roof™ lets in more of
the world above. The total combined area of the two
panels is more than three times the size of a
conventional moonroof. The Vista Roof vent position
is designed to allow fresh air in while keeping the
elements out. Power-operated dual shades can be
closed to block out nearly 100 percent of UV rays.
Available on SEL, Limited, and Sport.
Top
Safety Pick
The beauty of the Edge goes beyond its exterior. At
the heart of this crossover is a reinforced steel
cage, part of the structural design to help manage
energy in the event of a collision. Anti-lock brakes
help deliver confident stopping power. Edge is
equipped with standard dual-stage front airbags in
the Personal Safety System® and side airbags for the
driver and front passenger, plus Safety Canopy®
side-curtain airbags for outboard seated passengers
in both rows. All these features have helped earn
the Edge a 2008 "Top Safety Pick" rating from the
Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. What's more,
Edge is equipped with AdvanceTrac® with Roll
Stability Control™ (RSC®) and offers available
All-Wheel Drive to help you avoid trouble in the
first place. Be sure to always wear your safety belt
and secure children in the rear seat.
Luxury
and Comfort
For all its outstanding cargo utility and
flexibility, Ford Edge excels just as well in the
luxury dimension. Step inside the top-of-the-line
Edge Limited. Outstanding features such as the
voice-activated Ford SYNC® Communications and
Entertainment System,* dual-zone electronic
automatic temperature control and particulate air
filter come standard, along with power exterior
mirrors with heat and memory features plus security
approach lamps. And that's not all. Naturally,
leather-trimmed seats are a standard amenity. Take a
good look all around, inside and out. You'll be
impressed with what you see - and feel - in the Edge
Limited.

Available All-Wheel Drive System
Driving in bad weather can be downright unnerving.
But don't worry. Edge offers available All-Wheel
Drive. AWD doesn't just react to wheel slippage when
it occurs. It predicts traction and automatically
delivers the precise and proper amount of engine
torque to all of the wheels even before slippage
occurs. Working with the standard AdvanceTrac® with
Roll Stability Control™ system, AWD can transfer
torque from front to rear and side to side. While
all this is going on, you don't have to think about
it. That's peace of mind. |
