Triton® V8 Power Flex-Fuel
The 5.4L Triton® Flex-Fuel V8 is engineered to put the torque where it's needed most, delivering 90 percent at or below 2000 rpm. Multi-valve technology (3 valves per cylinder) allows the engine to breathe more freely, increasing horsepower. The 5.4L Triton® generates 310 horsepower and 365 lb.-ft of torque. All this awesome power is transmitted to the drive wheels by way of a 6-speed automatic transmission. Its wide 6-gear spread helps the engine generate lots of low-end torque (for tasks such as towing) and provide efficient operation in 6th gear overdrive on the highway.

Big Towing Capacity
Few vehicles rival a full-size SUV in its ability to tow a large boat or camper-trailer. The 5.4L Triton® V8's 310 horsepower and 365 lb./ft. of torque give the Expedition 4x2 regular-length model a maximum 9,200-lb. towing capacity when properly equipped with the available Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package. (The Expedition EL has a maximum towing capacity of 8,900 pounds.) For family recreation, Expedition is pretty hard to beat.

Independent Rear Suspension
Ford Expedition delivers an exceptionally smooth ride. A big reason is the Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) that allows each wheel to respond independently to rough or uneven surfaces for a smooth and controlled ride.

ControlTrac® 4x4 System
ControlTrac™, the standard system on the available Expedition 4x4, provides greater control in situations requiring added traction capability by dividing engine torque front-to-rear. Turning a rotary knob lets you (1) drive in high or low 4-wheel drive mode, (2) switch to 4x4 AUTO which automatically optimizes traction by transferring power to the appropriate wheels, or (3) shift into more economical 2-wheel drive.

Extended-Length Model
The Expedition EL (Extended Length) provides all the versatility of the regular-length Expedition plus 24 additional cu. ft. of cargo volume behind the 3rd-row seat.* The EL can pack it all in so you can take more with you on your family adventures.
*Cargo and load capacity limited by weight and weight distribution.

NHTSA 5-Star Frontal Crash Test Rating
When it comes time to buy a full-size vehicle for your family, it's important to know that Expedition and the extended-length Expedition EL have received the highest 5-star frontal crash test rating* for the driver and right front passenger from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for nine years straight.
*Star ratings are part of the U.S. Department of Transportation's Safercar.gov program (www.safercar.gov).

Rear View Camera Option
Get a clear picture of what's behind you with the Rear View Camera option. Put the vehicle's gear selector in Reverse and the system automatically transmits the image to your rearview mirror. If your Expedition is equipped with the available Navigation System, the image is shown on the navigation screen. The Rear View Camera is available on Eddie Bauer in the optional Eddie Bauer Convenience Package and standard on Limited and King Ranch.

Comfortable Seating for Up To Eight
The only feature that matches the generous cargo space provided in an Expedition is the outstanding seating comfort you'll experience in this full-size Ford SUV. Choose the popular XLT model with standard seating for five or up to eight with optional 3-passenger 3rd-row bench (manual or PowerFold™). If your taste is for luxury-level accommodations, you'll find everything you're looking for in an 8- or available 7-passenger Expedition Eddie Bauer, Limited or high-end King Ranch model. All three come with a host of amenities including leather-trimmed 1st- and 2nd-row seats and PowerFold™ 3rd-row seat. When it comes to comfort, you should never have to take a back seat to anyone.

2nd-Row CenterSlide™ Feature
Standard 2nd-row seating in every Expedition is a 40/20/40 split bench seat with CenterSlide™ feature. The center section can slide forward nearly 11 inches to make it easier to access a small child from the front seats.
